ayaka says that she, in a sense, views thoma as a brother and a full member of the kamisato clan, thus more so implying their bond is strong. it is actually only in her voiceline that she said she sees thoma as her brother. in her story quest, ayaka has said that thoma was first and foremost her friend before he became her assistant. we ship thoma and ayaka with the concept of eventual mutual pining; ayaka later on sees thoma as more than a friend in the future.

mihoyo hasn’t stated the official ages of thoma and ayaka (and the rest of the genshin characters) there are only estimated ages. taking into consideration the age gap of ayato and ayaka, it is likely they are at most 4-5 years apart. ayato could be in his late 20’s whereas ayaka is in her early 20’s. though unknown, thoma’s age is estimated by the community to be in his early to mid 20’s. it is also likely ayaka is in her 20’s as she bears responsibilities of the kamisato estate. thus, they are of appropriate age.
